Yes. This is the piece people don't seem to understand. Bankruptcy doesn't ruin your life. It just makes it hard to get credit for seven years.

If unionization were bad for employees, I'd expect the employers to be able to make that case persuasively. If they don't, I assume there's not much of a case to be made.

No, because the VC money is equity rather than debt. Profitability doesn't include "make sure the owners get some cash." It just means you made more money than you spent this quarter.

Metric countries use 2 meters, and it's determined by how far droplets fly when you talk/cough/sneeze. If covid were only transmitted via droplets, 6 feet/2 meters of distance would be enough. Alas.

"Eradicate" is a very strong word. We haven't eradicated measles or diphtheria, either. I think everyone would be pretty happy to get covid-19 down to the same incidence as measles.

I have written both PHP and JS for a living since about 2005 (for my sins) and I can tell you PHP has gone through at least as much of an evolution as JS. Neither one feels anything like its 2005 ancestor.

Please check your facts before posting. This is misinformation that's been flying around the internet, and it's going to harm people. There's a rundown here: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factc

This is perfect. FB quits Europe, a European competitor springs up, the whole world joins it because of network effects, and we all get European data-safety laws applied to our personal data.

The last ex-Amazonian I interviewed managed to express his discomfort with Amazon without "badmouthing" anything or anyone. I was impressed with his diplomacy. We hired him.

This is absolutely fair. When I ask people coming from Amazon why they left, I am very carefully listening to whether they like how Amazon treats its people or not. If I were interviewing an ex-Facebook employee, I'd want to hear some
