Sqlite is everywhere: Android, iOS (not only apps but operating system itself), airplanes, etc. I wonder if anything in space uses it.

You should look at modern UI libraries like Flutter or SwiftUI. It's a lot like immediate UI, but: - it is capable of storing state: storing position in scroll view, which page is currently visible, etc. - it tracks dependencies, so id

Blender is drawing it's UI in OpenGL, you can't be more cross platform than that.

Sad for developers. What I had in mind regarding desktop were big tools like Blender, Photoshop, Blender, IntelliJ IDEs, which existed long before Electron. I think it clearly shows that complex UI apps require cross platform UI, or will re

Writing the same thing multiple times is also sad. On desktops, it was understood long time ago.

All of this because app developers can't be bothered to add one line of code...

Can you add indexing to these, so I can respond to a comment just by writing a number?

I gave up on Rust 5 years ago because IDE experience was so inferior to C#, maybe it's time to try again. I really hope that Rust team will focus on developer experience more, it's astonishing how thinks like code completion or ho

How about a mask with filter and UV lights that periodically disinfect it? Could be cheaper. And from other UV uses, it would be cool to use it for disinfecting bathrooms when nobody is inside.

I don't see any obvious arguments why. It integrates very well with existing C code, a lot can be done with structs and static dispatch, there are pointers, etc. Not Rust level capabilities, but pretty good.

Current mask situation reminds me of a doctor that promoted hand washing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignaz_Semmelweis

Sounds reasonable. Mask should be required in grocery shops and crowded places, but it was probably easier to include all public spaces.

I would like to wear homemade mask from this site https://diymask.site/ but that stupid recommendation will make me look like a sick person.

Really? Where do they recommend this? Sounds insane. Czech Republic recently started requiring face covers so we will have results in few weeks.

That's very convoluted reasoning. I think the main goal of surgical masks for entire population would be to limit amount of virus floating in the air. They are also good at stopping people from touching their faces. IMO the goverments

Interesting, I wouldn't expect soap to be good at destroying viruses, only at removing it. Is there any research on this? BTW these multi-tweets are just ridiculous.

Not hard using IF, you could cut 30% and still feel full at least once a day.

That's Xamarin. Flutter is better at implementing custom UI, like stuff that can be seen on dribbble.

That's right. Offshore companies are a waste of time: their management adds unnecessary overhead and their good devs can leave at any time due to poor salary. I know because I work for one.

I wonder if it's possible to solve noise problem with flying cars. Maybe use active noise cancellation at the source? No idea if it's even theoretically possible, but would be neat.

Teams is great improvement over Skype for Business, which was great improvement over Lync, but it's still garbage. Interesting how the same company also made awesome VSCode.

Especially that it requires enabling a compiler flag. If you need to require that then you could require "#define true false" as well.
