It's kinda obvious if you think about this: - How come we have 2 eyes but see one 3d world? - We hear sounds and music coming from various directions, but all of this is created from 2 vibrating eardrums

If a drug has an 1% chance of 100% effect, it will look pretty weak in those studies. IMO it's pretty clear that depression is a symptom of many independent issues, so it's really lame that we don't have a more accurate way o

You introduced dualism yourself by making distinction between body / process. I heard Michal Levin talk about dualism recently. He has an interesting point: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Qp0rCU49lMs&t=6210

We have those eureka moments, whene good idea appears out of nowhere. I would say this "nowhere" is intelligence without sentience.

I love shitting on Apple's developer tools but they handled cross language integration really well. Swift Package Manager handles Swift, ObjC, C, C++ in the same project, code completion works just fine. Overall much nicer than in othe

IMO every ban should have a dedicated web page containing ban reasons and proofs, which affected person can challenge, use in court or share publicly.

Maybe it was intentionally funny, maybe not. But imagining oneself from a third perspective has a therapeutic effect that you can't really explain in words. You just do it and it's deeply soothing somehow.

Thanks, is there a .mobi version? I have had some meditation induced psychotic symptoms. Terrifying experience, but also got me much more carious about the nature o mind.

In other words, LLMs work best when *you are absolutely right" and "this is a very insightful question" are actually true.

"there is no problem to solve" is a thought. It becomes insight if it actually feels true. "It feels like there is no problem to solve" is a synonym of being relaxed.

So experiencing your inner reality is the final goal in itself? I thought that the point was to reduce suffering.

These ideas are probably as old as humanity, which is I guess why author did not bother to explain further. The trick is that perceived effort != actual effort. So the big question is: how much you can reduce this perceived effort?

Would be fun if this devolved into psychodelic, hypnotic videos that have no cognitively discernable content (like white noise) but evoke an urge to press the like button. I'm just curious if such thing is possible.

Yeah, I thought lack of typing in python was intentional to support this another paradigm of programming for geniuses who don't need hand holding. Turns out they just didn't know any better?

This is random, but I wonder if it would be possible to render BG3 with isometric camera, and then, on the fly, convert most of 3d objects into sprites.

In an alternative reality, Chris invented Mojo at Apple (instead of Swift). If one language was used for iOS apps and gpu programming, with some compatibility with python, it would be pretty neat.

How does this compare to React-like approach (React, Flutter, SwiftUI)? It seems like those libraries do what IMGUI do, but more structured.
