Hold up, how are they generating a private key from a public key? That's supposed to be very difficult. Are you saying that a large chunk of the key (private key or public key?) is a manufacturer code? That's insane

The problem with energy is that it's, well, energetic. It doesn't matter if it's green clean solar or nasty fossil fuels or highly debated nuclear energy, there are big risks of the energy production and storage getting out

Is it intentional deceit to tell everyone it's leading to something when, as you correctly point out, nobody actually knows if it will?

I think the difference here is it is not at all obvious to me that an LLM is a force multiplier on same the order as cars to legs. Cars are pretty easy to observe in action doing what they promise to do. Driving a car is a very straightfor

If I have to go to this much effort, what is AI buying us here? Why don't we just put the effort in to learn to write code ourselves? Instead of troubleshooting AI problems and coming up with clever workarounds for those problems, tr

Seriously!! Coding with LLM's is marketed as a huge time saver, but every time I've tried, it hasn't been. I'm told I just need to put in the time (ironic, no?) to learn to use the LLM properly. Why don't I just

I've had a DC-1 for a few months now and this review sums it up nicely. The one thing I'd say was missed is that you actually can assign actions to the extra physical buttons with apps like Key Mapper

I was hoping for an explanation for why this is a key agency, or why it's more interesting news than cuts at any other agency. None are given in the article.

So in other words, Red Hat does not freely license their patents, they say "you are free as long as you don't come after us." Which is exactly the system 99% of companies follow, just more formally stated. Yet you berated

My friend, you really don't know what you are talking about, and getting all riled up like this is not the right way to learn. Freely licensing your patents doesn't protect you against patent trolls. I wrote out how patent fights

There's no way an LLM is decoding this. It's just giving you a statistically likely response to the request, "guess my secret message." It's not a big surprise that it guessed "Hello" or "Hello, worl

One of the benefits of the patent system (that now seems to be far outweighed by negatives) is that patents are public information. Your invention is documented for all to see. I don't think that someone writing about public informat

Berating people for filing patents in self defense is not how we fix this problem. The government put these rules in place. Businesses have to at least accumulate patents to use defensively (you found a patent of yours that you think I&

First of all, it's not just a game, it's an outright battle to the death (of your company). Sure, you can choose not to wield patents, even in self defense, but good luck with that.

Patents are part of the game you have to play, like it or not. If you don't patent your inventions somebody else will and they will come after you with their lawyers. Patents are used defensively far more often than they are used off
