Same in Swedish. Also the Swedish word for computer is dator. Don't know if this in any way shifts the mental perspective though.

I've also used PostgREST successfully. It was first meant as a tool for rapid prototyping, but it worked so well that we kept it. We ended up separating the database into a schema called api, consisting only of views of the core domain

Good tool that is often enough. Text-based means version control. I'm using it via a plugin in Visual Studio Code. Very lightweight solution.
