Did not think about it that way, but that does sound like a highly plausible direction a company that ditched their 'don't do evil' mantra would take it. In fact, thinking about it some more, the reasoning behind the tech w

Elon’s ‘Masterplan’ was probably the better way for Dyson as well. Don’t start off mass producing the vehicle for everybody. Make a few for the very rich. Reinvest to make a slightly cheaper car for more people. Take that money and repeat.

People were having the same discussions about airbags. They ended up saving quite a number of lives. The media should do more to contribute to a better world vs writing clickbaity articles that make adrevenue. It’s astonishing that somethi

Self driving cars are the future. However, it may be a lot better transition (both to gain public trust and to improve the technology) to gradually make cars do more things and evolve the vehicle through incremental steps. This definitely i

In all fairness, our UX/UI design studio [1] has worked with engineering teams of big companies. Be it Google engineers or others. The problem, almost always, is that the designers try to design simple UX logic - Engineers try to imple

There are so many articles, books and what not out there on the subject. The best thing I did was not read any of it. Many first time parents have a consistent feeling of ‘doing it all wrong’. The more you read, the more you’ll just feed th

As a senior designer who, for the last 10+ years worked on so many software products I can tell you this: none of these things are applicable for 99.99% of businesses. Google did some a/b testing on which blue tone links converts bette

Though the article doesn’t say anything new, it’s astonishing how hard it is for founders (especially of SaaS products) to actually do this. I run a UI/UX design firm that focusses on B2B SaaS products and the biggest difference I see

As I mentioned, data-points can help steer in the right direction. I'm definitely not talking about disruption or changing paradigms. The same way a YC can't guarantee each startup will disrupt an industry. All they can do is help

I think having lots of data points is the only way to give proper advice about Startups. YC has given outstanding startup advice from a specific SV perspective. I've been running a UI/UX design firm for the last 10 years, working

I’ve built http://upstart.me entirely on Google Sheets. Haven’t had any issues and works really well. This allows me to collect data from newsletter through a Google Form - which gets stored in a Sheet - that I can then curate,
