By multiple connections do you mean multiple "sharee"s? Nutty works fine with multiple sharees too.

Right. home page is of no use if extension is not installed. So it redirects to /info. Once you install extension and nutty scripts you can visit home page to start/share terminal. This behavior is intentional.

Nutty is written in angularjs ... i do routing internally on the client side, so it is supposed to intelligently change the route (address URL) depending on whether extension is installed or not. Did it do something unexpected?

local bash in the browser technically is possible without any hacks. You need to write an NPAPI browser plugin to do forkpty() and the browser-javascript can access the pseudo terminal through the NPAPI plugin.

ChromeOS is able to show terminal in the browser because the feature is built into the browser. i.e terminal extension (crosh extension) on ChromeOS has special privileges to access the underlying system. if you want to dig deeper (grep for

it records only the characters echoed to the terminal-emulator by the pty device (hence passwords are not recorded)

Having GlusterFS in user space gave us a lot of advantages (development cycle time, bugs not panicking the kernel etc) ... besides in a distributed scale out architecture doing things in kernel or user space does not make much of a differen
