I would. It's freedom in the sense of "freedom to deny others' freedom". That's pretty directly analogous to 1984's "freedom is slavery".

That's the way I see it. Vevo means I don't get to see lyrics, I get a video with weird intro/outro patters and instead of just the song, I get the censored and shortened radio version of the song, and I get more ads. If vevo

The US has a problem of private industry infiltrating and co-opting government, and people largely normalizing it. The landscape for telecoms is simultaneously over-regulated with respect to allowing room for new players to enter the market

I can't stand what ubers and lyft do to congestion. The drivers have no incentive to stop in marked areas or even pull over to the side when picking up/dropping off. Most of our busier two-lane streets are now 1-lane congested beh

Had you considered a bike? I've lived in Austin, spent time in Seattle. Ditching the car and using the savings to afford a more centrally-located place in those places could make sense, especially when the alternative is sitting at hom

I don’t understand what they mean with the Java comments. Moving from 5 to 6 was a massive pain at one of my companies. It was a two year transition that went into the EOL of 5. 6 to 7 was just barely any better. Maybe they wrote forward-co

Being the second biggest polluter of CO2 pretty clearly refutes that “developing countries” are the biggest polluters. The US has a lot of problems, but I’m not sure I’d call it developing.

False. The US the biggest CO2 polluter per capita and the second biggest CO2 polluter overall. California contributes a significant chunk to that equation.

Today my cto and some other old timers were discussing bugs from the early days of the company, and one of the observations was that optimistic updates create pessimistic users. Network hiccups, power outages, closed browsers, server lockup
