So it's also fine if they determined that having half as many women would increase their competitiveness?

I think (hope) some people are just so desperate for work they'll suffer indignities like that in order to have it.

Researchers and scientists could have asymmetric keys and peer review in that fashion. The authors could append cryptographic signatures to the article. Then we don't need centralized journals, just a list of academics whose scientific rigo

It's just a total misfire to take Linux users, many of whom are in the Venn diagram intersection of "computer savvy" and "libre software advocate", and then try to force them to watch advertisements on their own desktop. Even people that do

I share that view, but I fear we are in the minority. My family, for example, wouldn't have any idea what to do with a pocket UNIX.

This isn't going to work, the majority of trolls are NPE's and can simply declare bankruptcy. How many defaults on payments are we going to have before lawyers simply refuse to act as defence? I think we should require half of the money spe

I was very excited about Apple for about a decade now, but this walled garden is really getting to me. I doubt I'll be buying any new Apple hardware in the future, and I'll pivot to developing for the web instead of making apps as soon as I

I reject that definition and suggest that it should instead mean, "a pejorative term used for a person or company who enforces one or more patent(s) that do not fullfil the requirement of being non-obvious and inventive against one or more

I think it's a good question if only for the quality of answer it gained for the rest of us. But it's certainly not what I would expect from a very experienced developer.

Any complaints about NoScript are completely unfounded, (unless they are addressing that stupid update page). Why on Earth would I want you to use full percentage points of my CPU time to shuffle divs around and report back to the server ev

I get what you are saying, but I feel reducto ad absurdum is unfair here. I understood the parent's point as this; using Sinatra to give yourself the convenience of the {get,post,...} methods for working with HTTP vs. Rails, which forces up

When I receive update mails from a company I've bought from, and there was no explicit opt-in checkbox, I usually just mark them as spam and send future mails from that entity to the trash. My box is full enough.
