When I search 'dc plane crash' in Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo I don't get results buried under ads. When I search 'air conditioner for sale' I do get ads at the top of each of those, but that's more okay becau

To be clear that YouTube video is not really a critique of Richard Feynman, especially not his scientific career, it's a critique of people who knew him writing books and making content using his name and making money off it as if it c

Yeah both the UK and US are notorious for NIMBYism. People filing lawsuits as like a hobby, because they want to stop all development. In these countries it's far to easy for a small group of complainers to grind the entire system to a

How much does it cost to argue in court that a particular entity is an abuser though? Someone has to be willing to cover those costs up front, otherwise people will just keep settling if they don't want to go through that process.

The US Supreme Court's decision was that there was not grounds for them to interfere in the case, because the state courts had already provided sufficient due process. They made no official ruling about guilt or capital punishment.

There are no IQ tests that measure IQ through genetics though. They are all measuring it by asking knowledge questions that the subject answers. There aren't many people that claim IQ isn't measuring anything. Just that it is not

Having the order matter and matching the first `true` branch makes for more readable and less-wordy if statements. Otherwise when you have two conditions which have any overlap, such as A and B, for the A branch you need to add `and not B`

This is an interesting idea for a feature, that I think I would like too. I like to save things to maybe look at later and a TTL would manage automatically dropping them from bookmarks in case I never actually want to look at it later.

It's possible that you are biased towards dowsing and thus not a good control for the experiment. You want dowsing to work and thus try harder when dowsing than when not.
