To estimate probability distributions, you need data that is non-random. Non-random means there's a pattern. That's another word for correlation. In using those methods you may never calculate correlation as a number, but when tho

Those methods still rely on correlation. To be clear: We are not only talking about linear correlation here, which is only one of several kinds of correlations.

The right way to disprove "Nothing other than correlation implies causation." would be to find one causation whose existance we know from something other than causation. But you won't find it. Think about any causation. Now a

Protection against most attacks: The first time I connect a device, the OS should show me what type it is (keyboard, mouse, etc.) and ask me if I want to use it. Only at that time it gets activated.

The request header is already sent by all browsers. Developer tools in Chrome shows me that it sends accept: image/webp,*/*;q=0.8 when requesting images. I'm with you that a special CSP directive would be nice.

Couldn't Google, Facebook etc. just set a CSP that forbids embedding certain pages of theirs? E.g. Facebook forbidding embedding their facebook.com/me. Edited to add: There are two standards to disallow embedding, but both don

Instead of avoiding all those optimization killers, a much more higher impact approach is to fix this in the V8 project. You not only make your own code faster, you make thousands if not millions of pieces of code faster.

This! I would like to have AdBlockPlus' UI with httpSwitchboard's backend. So I filed a request to AdBlockPlus to do that: https://issues.adblockplus.org/ticket/488

In the future, other companies/orgs may add to one company's prize pot therefore make it a sufficient offer. Often times, people try to win the prize, knowing they'll on average make a loss, but doing it out of fun. See e.g.

One might buy the computer as a present and want to surprise the gifted with Firefox already installed. Presents don't look that good unwrapped, so as they cannot install it themselves the only option left is to pay Dell to do it.

No need for installation media when you're on Windows 8. It has a built-in reinstall/refresh function. Just go to the Start screen and type reinstall.

Yes. I wonder if they just looked into how many of jobs as they are right now will eventually be repacable. That would be wrong, as how we do a job has always changed, meaning that when we get to the point where job X would be replacable,

No, client-side encryption makes sense even if you have to trust the server. When Mega's server gets compromised, the attackers cannot get a user's private keys until he visits Mega's site. Without client-side encryption, attackers could

Yes the water is clean, but that's only for sure until it comes out from what is basically inside the toilet bowl. If that opening is dirty, the water will be dirty.
