I would still put it in some prominent place, similar to how newspapers put "sponsored". I.e I wouldn't want unknowingly to read a blog written (in large part) by chatgpt and would feel deceived when it wasn't clear from

You might want to specify that on the title or in intro.

Surprised that you don't take the watch off during boxing, is that supported? (Not saying you can't do whatever you want with it, just that are they really that durable?)

The parent might have meant that nuclear processes in the sun generate the light that we catch here and turn into electricity. The downside of nuclear is that more could go wrong when building, while deploying solar panels doesn't have

That's interesting. Not knowing much about electricity read somewhere that it goes ~500km max and was wondering how are they going to get it from Africa to Europe.

Are there others with this issue? A quick google says it should work. I don't have a Framework laptop myself but an 2016 MBP with linux on it, LVM in LUKS, and hibernation works.

Right, but with websockets you wouldn't have to think about this at all. You'd also need to ensure http2 for local development, proxies in between, etc. You _can_ do all this, but you can also avoid putting any thought into this m

That's what I'm saying: it's not that good for non-sophisticated services, you need workarounds to make this "great technology" work. Might as well switch to websockets and not worry about this.

Server Sent Events infamously have low global connection limit per origin[1], so if you have multiple tabs open for a single site you'll run into it pretty quickly. If it weren't for that, they would be great. [1] https:/&#x

Yup, not a Go developer but ran into exactly this years ago when wanted to get a feel of it. Took a while to figure out what was wrong!

High speed is convenient for the occasional install (apt get/npm install/nix develop). Other than that I could probably live with 20Mbits/s for web/ssh/youtube/spotify.

But it's an alpha, right? ARM is a architecture, so it's much easier to get working while maturing the GPU driver will take time. EDIT: Nevermind, development status summarized here https://github.com/AsahiLinux&#x

I wouldn't plug effectful here - MTL and few others are usable as well, or not using an effect library at all.

If it's ok to run graphics on CPU (it supposedly is good enough) then we might have Mx MBAs running linux fairly soon. Hopefully not in 4-5 years anyway! FYI, "liberating" Intel macbooks has been possible for years, my 2015 m

Re: battery; don't know for a new battery, but my original lasts 4-5 hours running linux - which is very good (IMO) given that it was bought at the start of 2016. Don't know about having a MacOS alongside but if the disk is small,

Yeah, it seems to me (not an expert!) that energy will cost less and less over time, both in terms of how much you pay and how much CO2 is produced, thus CO2 production won't have much relation to image compression.

This is how I remember the book as well: as if the grain was blurred out of the photograph if the book were a photograph. Perhaps as you, I listened to the audiobook on a binge of going though many other books as well (Masters of Doom, Stev

Curious, does anyone remember how the book "Creativity, Inc" (by Ed Catmull and Amy Wallace) represent the situation? Read it years ago but don't remember.

This largely depends on what you do, e.g macos doesn't have systemd and the features it depends on. I guess you can do all of what Linux does through containers but then it's just more cumbersome. That said, if your workflow is to

Agree 100%! I was quite taken aback by the "Does that logic work for Blacks for instance ?" that started this above but then thought that instead of getting angry why not attempt to get my argumentation straightened out instead :)

I find it funny as well. I guess sex can be considered a human right in a certain way: no third party should be able to stop a consenting group of people to having sex. While this is the wrong definition: another person should have sex with

I think the difference here is that in case of a female (or a male for that matter) it is their personal choice of whether they want to have sex with someone or not; but racial non-discrimination is a norm you are expected to follow. I.e it

Similar situation here. I really like the fact that I can push any repo out into to the cloud without having to trust it, then access it anywhere and don't have to manage the hosting. Kind of wish Signal built this into their product.

Does it? It says how managing keys in public key cryptography is complicated. As also signing and verification, and x509 certificates rely on this then one might say they too are complicated - as is everything else that builds on asymmetric
