I use Pandoc to view markdown in a terminal using `less` (see `lesspipe(1)`), either through html and `elinks` or through a custom writer ([2] forked from [1]). [0] My `.lessfilter` configuration: https://gist.github.com/kps

Before the Elon event (and maybe again now), Pawoo was by far the most active Mastodon instance, and there's an almost complete partition between ‘Western’ and ‘Eastern’ Mastodon networks.

I think it's merely annoying that DMARC, DKIM, et al are all TXT records with magic fake domain names because record types ossified. Also, the web ‘public suffix list’ should be a DNS property instead.

It happened because Windows adopted IBM CUA, and the ‘desktop Linux’ crowd had a fetish for copying Windows. Before that, X11 programs were typically fully configurable, with key bindings in X resources. Currently I think KDE is the least-b

Much as I dislike login walls, Mastodon still doesn't respect `:prefers-color-scheme`, so they're not my friends either.

The major ports (Montréal and Vancouver) are controlled by organized crime. But those people are scary (and/or well-connected). Much easier to go after hobbyists. Sport shooters can insert a certain James Franco meme here.

Yes, I routinely get located in a different province; there are approximately zero consequences to a geolocation provider for getting it wrong. Worst are the sites that I grant my actual location and then use some IP-based fantasy anyway .

Yes, a few years ago I helped a friend recover a bunch of old documents. The solution was to use Mac Word 5 to open the Word 4 files and save them as something newer versions could read.
