I find Shen lang interesting, but never actually tried it. Can anyone explain few things? 1. Why explicitly call `prolog?` function? Why not make it implicit, so user could use, for example, `member` function (defined via `defprolog` notati

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm honestly surprised how people could trust huge amounts of money to projects like Ethereum and The DAO. The only explanation I could imagine is like: "We could have become rich if we knew t

Also, I doubt they could handle it, their scope is huge: new OS, new programming language, networking, encryption, time, compilation, virtualization etc. I don't believe group of 5 unknown people can handle it. Like, Urbit time: ht

Also, I love Clojure's out-of-the-box minimalist syntax for explicit trampolining. But this one is not that minimalistic + requires additional import. But there is already a sub-project to support TCO in JVM (but it is very old and pro

Looks good, but honestly I can't imagine any practical usage of that thing. I mean, I understand explicit trampolining in Clojure, but in Java you don't often use recursion.

I think that it's some kind of natural selection among languages/cultures. Languages are just tools. If this tool is effective - people use it. Otherwise it "dies".

I think that it is necessary to learn Vim not because it is the best text editor (it's not!), but because it is one of the best ways to edit texts. It was hard for me to get used to it (I forced myself to write all scripts - Perl, Bash

Which makes this law much more stupid. You can virtually block ANY website in Russia by posting prohibited text or picture (as guest user, for example). Also, note that NO court decision required. Sites blocked imemdiately (almost).

I'm not saying that you should learn nothing and just go to 1000 interviews - and you get your job. Do not exaggerate, please.

So true! With Hibernate there are a lot of things happen under the hood. And all you can do is either struggle with Hibernate, or hope that those under-the-hood-things won't have a strong impact on your app's performance.
