It isn't that hard to write a JSON parser (especially when it targets a specific application).

I didn't mean to sound like a hard-core BSD enthusiast, sorry. I was just very frustrated when they moved to cmake in their newer IDF, they added useless things that excluded BSDs. In its current state, it's untenable to patch it

I wasn't really clear there. The Linux-specific stuff wasn't caused by Cmake. They are two independent things that happened as part of the same upgrade. Considering that they are supporting Linux, there was no real reason to make

If anyone from Espressif seeing this, I love your MCUs. But can you please improve the ESP-IDF so that it's usable on BSD systems. The Linuxisms baked into its build system is unnecessary. I think moving from Make in the old version of

Sure, if you run into issues, feel free to drop me an email. My address is on the home page. Thanks for sharing the resources! Great to connect with fellow e-paper enthusiasts :)

That's beautiful, thanks for sharing. I was wondering what may be the best way to do frames. Custom frames, here in Singapore, are a bit expensive relative to the rest of the parts.

I work on e-paper displays. Are you looking for something built with a Kindle? This project of mine is similar to what you described with a power down mode. The power down and wake up can be automated. I'm looking to build a small busi

I built this dashboard. The price curves and text are rendered locally from the microcontroller and painted pixel by pixel. Letters use raster fonts stored locally, price curves are generated on the fly. It can be done, it takes a bit of ca

A quick reference for a few simple tips for writing memory-efficient Pandas code and some tests for their effectiveness. Would love to hear your feedback and other techniques I could explore.

Love it! Any idea how long the display can last? I've been playing around with e-paper (nothing as impressive as this!) dashboards. I use Waveshare displays that has a max of 1 million refresh cycles. The display you've used seems

This is where education comes in. When we come cross a certain scale, we should know that O(n) comes into play, and study existing literature before trying to naively solve the problem. What would happen if the "AI" and web search

I use OpenBSD. You must check the hardware support. If it works, it works far better than Linux from my experience. Somethings to take note: 1. Power management may not be as good as with Linux 2. No HDMI sound support 3. No bluetoo

That's a good point. As a non-native speaker, I use Grammarly to improve my writing. But often, when I add clauses that indicate uncertainty, grammarly complaints about how I can be more concise by dropping those parts.

My only qualm with ESP32 is the toolchain doesn't really work with openbsd - probably not with any Unix that isn't Linux. Other than that, it's a pleasure to work with them.
