Been saying this for awhile. As dumb as some nfts are, I do think that having a public registry that logs a paper trail for all human-generated media is a necessary solution in response to AI.

How does this compare to Portugal’s wild success when it comes to decriminalizing hard drugs? Seems like SF is a way less useful example.

Huh? You’re telling me you think they can travel light years to get here but don’t have the tech to land without us detecting them? That’s an assumption.

So within a massive investigation that was completely above board 99% of the time and led to arrests and prison time for dozens of officials that were involved in corruption on a mass scale, one wiretap application was improper and led to a

I feel like this article underplays the importance of salt in the past. It was used as a currency. There isn’t a single culture we’ve found that doesn’t have a wealth of superstitions about the power of salt. Salt was also one of Spains big

Oh yea but if it doesn’t recognize a face then you can’t do anything. I have plenty of photos where the face is right there, but photoprism just didn’t recognize that there’s a face, and I can’t manually point at it and say “add a face, nam

I use this but would love something that’s better at tagging content and face recognition. Photoprism misses the mark often, and it’s also not very easy to fix mistakes. Edit: for example, just yesterday I uploaded ~30 photos of my girlfrie

I use photoprism, but tbh photoprism rarely correctly identifies faces and labels content. I can’t tell if it’s just a limitation of the algorithm or if I’m running into a limitation of the database, because photoprism also has this issue w

Yea. I think maybe this is what happens when I read something I don’t fully understand but want to share the info. I think they’re switching their encryption algorithms and also they were looking into how quantum computing affects SHA256.

Government institutions have already been instructed to start using quantum computer safe encryption algorithms. Internationally, governments have been storing tons of encrypted data that they can’t currently decrypt because they expect to
