This has been the biggest red flag to me about oxide since these blogs came out. You don’t join a startup for salary and every startup I’ve been at that emphasizes fair salaries is doing that to intentionally discourage people from pushin

SpaceX’s mission is very explicitly not shareholder aligned, which is why Musk explicitly said he would never take it public or sell his majority stake. The mission is mars and the money making endeavors (starlink) are to bring in the cash

Im not sure this applies. Good people at NASA were already capable of easily finding higher pay in the private sector. People work at NASA because they believe in the mission. So if they are leaving now they either stopped believing in the

It’s a pretty serious federal crime to impersonate an emergency vehicle at those. So definitely worth just running the red.

Public bus rides cost proportionately the same to min wage in California if that helps. The Y and the bus haven’t turned into upscale things if that’s the point you’re trying to make.

Your barrier sounds like some other anxiety issue unrelated to economic status. You know how important swimming lessons are and yet just gave up and skipped it entirely? Or are you actually privileged and had other swimming lesson options f

Put them at the lowest level if you don’t know. That’s easy. As far as schedule goes, who’s taking care of the kid? At age 3 or 4 when you do this, it’s not like they are in school so some adult has to be around at 5:45pm.

Not really access, but interest. The YMCA offers swimming lessons easily within reach of poor families that want them. A subset of the population just thinks it’s useless.

Your point is wrong. Everywhere in the US has access to some form of swimming. Whether or not someone learns to swim is dominated by what their parents raising them decide. It’s much more likely to follow an urban vs suburban/rural div

It’s emotionally immature to couple these things together. Would you refuse to board a plane if you knew the pilot attended pro-life protests? Would you go around telling other people in the boarding line this “FYI”?

This isn’t true in robberies where someone pulls a gun as an intimidation tactic. There are plenty of videos where the store owner shoots a robber who pulled out a gun before the robber could fire.
