Your argument is that once it's high risk, it's gambling. Sorry but that is just not the case. It's a ratio. If you don't understand this, then I agree that you should stay away from anything that involves risk managemen

The reward/risk ratio of lottery tickets is very well known. And it's obviously not in your favor. So it's basically a no brainer not to invest in them. Things like startups for example also have a very high risk rate, but al

No it stays the same if you have an investment portfolio and only invest max 5% in high risk assets. Assume you invest 1% of your portfolio in Bitcoin. What is your downside? 1%. Not that high, is it? What is your upside? Maybe x100, so dou

Motorcycle physics are very interesting to say the least. My favorite is this: What happens to the suspensions when you brake? Front one compresses while the back one extends. That one was easy. Now this: What happens to the suspensions whe

You made a generic claim that different cultures bring different ideas and skills. I have a hard time understanding what that means in practice at the workplace. That's why I'm asking for an example. I still don't see how it

That is true. Surprisingly we have a pretty diverse team, so no questions there :). But let's assume that wasn't the case and questions are asked. I think I would move a big part of the interview process to a standardised written

Developers are in high demand in EU, so I wouldn't worry about that. Besides, if you don't hire for skills but for optimizing some unrelated statistics, you will need plenty of good developers to clean up the mess.

Can you give an example on how a white male software developer would develop something differently than for example an asian woman, and how the cultural difference would translate into a different approach of writing code?

I do a lot of hiring, and co-hired a lot of my colleagues. I would never hire for diversity, and would explicitly refuse to do so. Why? Everyone in my team is hired for 1 thing: excellent developers. Nobody is questioning why they are the

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as citizens can vote on their leaders, you have a democracy. This has nothing to do with how much power the government has or wants over its citizens. As long as they can vote on different represent
