It does fit it. Perfectly. It's incredible. Like an Internet of all Human Knowledge released before 1965. OpenAI could of done this. The battle to me is just people respecting ideas instead of saying they are impossible or unnecessary

Good-enough? Please please type out what a truely open source ai model with open weights and open data would be like. I picture it like a Tower of Babel! Very far from "Good-enough"!

Look at Apple spending a billion on ads to say they respect your privacy or the Earth. Meta is buying / licensing a market sector in an industry they dominate where they have full control of our data. Our data is what got them that bil

True? The cynicism is arguments over "true". If you trick yourself into believing this is what Open Source looks like (no source data) then you lose out on imagining what a real open source AI with open source data would be like.

Can you imagine how incredible an open source model would be for research / humanity beyond the buisness needs right in front of us? Open-Knowledge source with an Open-Inteligence that can guide you through the entire massive digital l

Model Weights are not the Source. Why can't that be obviously like a binary isn't source code - a binary is compiled from source. You can open-license the data in a binary so it can be reverse-engineered / modded but that doe

Trivial? ."the model is open source and the released weights are, well, open weight." I'm not sure why you don't want open source model data or think open source is trivial. This sentence makes no distinction or point.

You don't want AI data to be open? You don't want massive libraries of open knowledge spanning all cultures accessible finally to anyone in the world in any language?

Imagine an "Open Source" & "Open Weight" model that could give you a HTTP link to the source of any idea it knows directly from its public training database.

Please call it Open Weights and not Open Source. Open Souce AI will be nothing like Open Weight AI. Open Source AI will be able to reference and share its underlying truth data. Imagine an Open Source AI trained on all GPL code or a Public

Sounds similar to UML: Unified Modeling Language diagrams. I wonder if TLA+ could convert to diagrams instead of Math notation.

People also like colloquially saying "The Square Root of -1". Technically wrong but personally meaningful. GA is mainstream once normal people start joking about the square root of zero. We need to imagine and teach even more imag

1 + 1 didn't need rigor for years. then people did it in the Pricipia Mathematica and no one was happy. i + j is just as silly as 1 + 1.

I'm glad you seem to know what I mean. I love imaginary numbers like the Square Root of -1 or the Square Root of 0. They can only be used like: nil²=0 i²=-1 j²=-1 And combining them into complex forms like: (i + j) (nil + i) What can I

As this shows, ei and ej are imaginary numbers. This confusion is the biggest issue in GA to me. Typically Linear Algebra users don't use imaginary numbers either. It's all connected when doing geometry though and its pointless to

How is complex / imaginary numbers not what they are doing? Numbers that square to -1, 0, and 1 are the bread and butter of the GA I know. Exploring different combinations of types of imaginary numbers and their products and space desc

What's it even mean to use Imaginary Numbers or Quaternions "rigorously"? It's Geometry. The point is points, lines, applying transformations. If anything the field needs less rigor and more friendly intuition.

Squaring and Cubing should be geometric ideas - not just another way to do 1D multiplication. We need new operators for transforming a number into a higher dimention.

If Valve makes a Deckard Linux headset thats fun to dev for and achives a solid Linux VR experience it could change the field of computer science.
