Couldn't it be a simple reboot to switch back to normal linux?

Yeah JSON compatable is very different from convertable.

You have to encode the type of all the binary data. Does that make it serialization?

GLTF is like this too (or PLY)? The main difference is the format of their headers? Just by reading the header you can parse the binary data. I'm surprised BSON and any of the other binary JSON formats they list don't support read

Is it just as easy to make an extension that runs a local AI translation model? Translation would benefit from having a community continuously updating and tuning local models for languages. If it was an extension it would be nice if people

The core idea of the witness wasn't novel either. The novelty was how far they went with it.

Can a wavelet be used with SIMD 128bit operations? Or are they used with 4x4 Matrix operators? Are wavelets good for that kind of math?

Seems like a mean thing to say when the subject they were replying to was AI in general and not just the dumb tab grouping feature.

The new AI Tab Grouping feature says it. I've never tried the AI chatbot feature but that makes sense. Would be fun to somehow talk to the local AI translation feature.

I wish there was a Horizontal solution instead of vertical tabs. Maybe someone could mod their AI system with a non-AI backend.

How do you disable the telemetry in Waterfox? It looks like they get their funding because they partnered with an Ad company. Do I just need to change the default search?

This is probably their plan to monetize this. They will partner with a AI company to 'enhance' the browser with a paid cloud model and the local model has no monetary incentive not to suck.

Is it really in all 4 of those places? Just need to change it in the first two, right? I hate the new AI tab feature and wish they had a non-AI option.

The harm to me is the implementation is terrible - local or not (assuming no AI based telemetry). If their answer is AI then it pretty much means they won't make a non-AI solution. Today I just got my first stupid AI tab grouping in Fi

Pay for what? It says it's a local AI model so how will AI companies be giving Firefox revenue from this?

I'm ok with Translation because it's best solved with AI. I'm not ok with it when Firefox "uses AI to read your open tabs" to do things that don't even need an AI based solution.

Got my first change in Firefox today that says "Nightly uses AI to read your Open Tabs". Says its local but I really have zero trust for telemetry on this kind of stuff.

Did Firefox already add AI into Tabs? Today I just got my first 'Tab Grouping' and it says "Nightly uses AI to read your Open Tabs". That's the worst way to do grouping ever... just group hierarchically based on whe

Why not both? Why can't something be source available and open source? Or fair source and source available? It isn't this complicated.

"Source Available" is "follow whatever my rules are or I will sue you". That could include something as crazy as a license that says "be a dick and I will sue you". For normal people that can't afford lega

I edited it to be more specific while you were typing that. The entire point of copyright is a legal mechanism to sue people. "Source-available" at a minimum is someone sharing their code under their own copyright and terms of use

Why does that require there to be 'less open source'? Nothing is stopping that already today. Impact wise, everyday people can't use build tooling so this kind of thing only effects people that are 1 keystroke away from modif
