London is very much the same. The recent large expansion of cycle routes along the Thames and the resultant roadworks has increased the us vs them sentiment unfortunately :(

I don't know much about engines nor cars but I am guessing that even with electric motors one needs gears? If so then there would be a need for gearbox oil.

This might be all completely true but doesn't regard mindshare or loyalty. Apple has historically had a fanatical fan base, and should be spending a small fraction of their huge cash reserves to make sure they keep a fanatical fan bas

I guess it does create a situation, and in that situation, as you say, there's opportunity to observe reactions etc. Just seems such a miserable thing, people thumbing through your phone.

When did this start to become a thing? Why is it even a thing? Is it just part of the progression of more intrusiveness, or is there something specifically they are looking for? Does anyone know what they do once they have your phone and

Not the answer you want but an ipad might limit the damage that can be done. It would remove the need for education.

Ah I see, I figured this was just plain Minesweeper that you could have played on an Apple ][e! Thanks for the info, it isn't quite as bad as it initially sounded. Shame that there is still advertising in the OS though.

It feels like the height of bad taste to have ads baked into your OS. I can't imagine anyone feeling better or happier that they have ads in their OS. Seems a very crass move.

It would be a huge shame if the same fate befell Periscope which I find hugely intriguing - just the ability to look at some arbitrary place in the world.

I remember being left alone in the car at 7 or 8. If it was too hot I would have opened the window, or in extreme cases, stepped outside for some time.

jQuery to me has the same connotations but I was surprised by Bower. As an out-of-the-loop sometime JS developer what's respectable these days, npm/gulp/sass, vanilla.js/react/angular2?

Yes those are the toilets! I was amazed by them and found that the flush control clicks out and the access to the cistern is behind it, and that's why typically the flush button is so large, because you just tile the whole cistern int

Yes those Huf Häuser are amazing. I found that there were suppliers of the doors in the UK but I haven't looked further afield. The windows (opening two different directions) are also similarly impressive though much more widespread.
