Wow this kind of hit home! A lot of familiar ground. When I was 12 and living in San Diego I started a BBS, also using WWIV. Called Xcellent! BBS. When we moved back to the UK I tried to keep it going, but the BBS scene in the UK was a

One of the things I believe the author is missing is flow efficiency vs resource efficiency. To reduce handoff and waste, sometimes the utilisation of a single resource may go down.

If you define your transformations in DBT (data build tool) you can view high level lineage documentation in the form of interactive diagrams. But if you haven’t started this way it is likely a labour intensive and poor way to get document

Yes - this is primarily how I use mine. It doesn't have close to the polish of something like iBooks unfortunately, but it works.

I had acid reflux for a number of years. It got more and more acute until it felt almost like how I imagine a heart attack to feel. In the end after a week in hospital I had my gallbladder removed and subsequent to that any very occasiona

Do you happen to know what sort of thinking leads a team down this path? It seems a fundamental mistake. Resume driven development?

Thanks, yes the area I think is relevant to Gary Bernhardt's presentations. Thanks for the link. If I find the article I will reply again to your message.

I find it quite interesting that a natural inclination of some people is to believe that if it was simple for someone to think, in some way, of the feature they want, that it should also be simple to implement. Have seen this a lot.

I've only ever plugged my LG Ultrafine 5k into the right hand side of 2016 15 inch, but I find that if the room is warm (perhaps > 22 degrees C) I have 'kernel_task' apparently maxing out my CPU. Anecdotally until I disco

Why do you believe you would be blamed when the company finally goes bust? Would this blame matter because of your friendship with your cofounders? Or does their blame affect you in some other way?

I have done this with musicians whose albums I have enjoyed, and I've gone into depth about what I specifically enjoyed and why. I have also received a 100% reply rate which I found completely unexpected.

Aaah I see, I had completely glossed over the type-safety aspect which makes the difference. Thanks, and thanks for the reference to monocle-ts.

Genuinely asking as I've had to tackle modification of large deeply nested immutable objects in JS. Because of the large and varied object, I used a generic approach of set/get functions that could take paths using https:/&

I've spent multiple years working with an iMac 21 inch, a Macbook Pro 15 inch retina, and a 27" LG Ultrafine 5k (I understand this is the same or similar panel as the iMac 5k 27"). I think if you are optimising for productivi

Is your space constrained such that the 27 inch would not fit? Is your budget constrained such that the 27 inch is too expensive? If neither your space nor your budget is constrained, then go for the 27 inch.
