I think a bit of buzz around renewal time is good. The best new signups come from referrals, and the best time for referrals is shortly after a customer has made the decision to pay for the service.

I had various models of the GP2X and hacked together a game for it and really enjoyed the community around it. That said, I thought the Pandora project would either fail or units would only be available when better alternatives exist, or t

I'm not sure, I think in the UK it's a fairly common assumption that a history degree means you'll most likely be operating a beer tap to pay the bills. This is also useful in most pubs since they are a few centuries old.

Interesting. It describes roughly the strategy that I've settled on when looking for accommodation to rent. I think it also has the added advantage of making you feel you've made a good decision.

It is quite refreshing to see an article clearly stating the problem and the right solution. The barriers to competition needs to be broken, then the neutrality issue sorts itself out. We don't need to see entrenched cartels and mono

While many make reference to the mythical creature Net Neutrality, I think at best this will be mostly a way for Comcast to enjoy some time for extra revenue and perhaps a chance to develop a closer partnership with a company like Netflix.

I've always been fascinated by ponzi schemes, or other pyramid and chain structures. Most of the legislation against it that I've looked at, attacks it from a deception angle. So, basically, if it's honest about what it is

I have conflicted feelings about this. On the one hand it's nice to see the creativity and spirit, on the other hand it's sad to have to invent solutions for problems we should have stopped having a century ago, where the solutio

I had to search through the comments for the word 'opportunity' to find this comment. I share exactly the same thought. It's a relatively straightforward model, and it should be easy enough to advertise for it too.

If I understand it correctly, this isn't based on true stats but instead heavily depends on numbers through news reports. I would be tempted to say that's almost as unscientific as the reasons the anti-vaccination crowd uses.

It's easy to create alarm over inequality. Compare the people who has built up wealth to the people who has no wealth because what they earn gets spent every month. This way even most of the middle class looks dirt poor.
