I don't know how "open with" option on Windows works, but if it works like in other OSes ( https://imgur.com/c26RLRv ), then xdg-override is not about that. xdg-override temporarily and selectively replaces the

This is why I wanted to override xdg-open temporarily, instead of writing yet another complete replacement. Plus, XDG is the de facto standard. Its implementation so far is not perfect, but I feel like aligning with the standard is better t

I'm not sure I understand you... I can't change Slack source code to invoke `firefox $url` for me instead of xdg-open it currently invokes. If you know a way, please share.

In a sense, xdg-open does exactly what your script does. Only it reads associations from mimeapps.list. The complexity comes from the integration with various desktop environments. And this I understand. Ideally, everyone would use xdg-util

Thanks for sharing this. I'm not on Gnome and don't need the option to choose an application every time I click on a link or a file. Nevertheless, seeing how other people approach a similar problem is interesting. Looking through

Well, the advice to not use lib and mod is a sound one. I realized that too. Workspaces – definitely, although, that's borderline useful, because it's hard for me to imagine someone growing their Rust codebase without knowing abou

The duplication stems from the presence of two workflows in DT: scene-referred and display-referred. I think OP was pushing for the scene-referred workflow and removal of the legacy display-referred workflow and all related modules. In fact
