I tried Ubuntu Linux on a Framework 13th generation intel laptop. Very smooth even on battery. Might be the OS ...

The reason is probably that dependency management gets much easier (or at least can get much easier). E.g. using any module in VSCode that requires native code (sqlite, treesitter etc) will have to work with that specific version of NodeJs

This is probably fixable in Node.js, just preallocate objects and do not excessively create new ones. But yeah using Node.js is probably not the best choice for this. As others have mentioned a JVM could easily handle this with some pre-all

I agree, The whole LLM agent stuff is totally overhyped. LLMs cannot really plan and all the workarounds people are currently using are not very reliable. Nice for demos, but unusable for a "product".

It doesn't for the newer (relevant) ones. Fine-tuning them is expensive and slow, because they are large

Why no? Chess notation is text. But the problem is that LLMs are not that good for problems which require evaluation of a search tree. Also leading chess engines such as lc0 are without search better than 90+x% of All humans

Does not make sense to me. Providing Apis costs money.others can make money out of it without paying anything.

Because others use automatic ways to retrieve the data and derive value from it without paying anything

If you look at the page, I guess the answer is yes. Or more precisely, an alternative to Flink written in rust.

That's a click bait title IMHO. Sure with some hardware changes you can get different tradeoffs with regards to performance, but that does not solve the distributed transactions problem completely. E.g. What about availability?

Yeah, I think it's strange that no one wants to improve on something like this. I can see a lot of use cases where you would want to just use one kubernetes cluster but have support for multi-tenancy with pods being isolated.

Therefore import maps do not solve all problems, bundling "compiler" solve. Even with HTTP/2 there is "some" overhead when loading lots of small files. There is also no tree-shaking e.g only loading functions whic

I would not claim to have enough information about twitter being overstaffed? They might have a lot of technical debt, which can cause the need for more people to run it. But that is not "overstaffing".

It makes much more sense to me then the non-sense Tesla does. Tt is a use case which would be very valuable for me. In Germany they are now in principle allowed to offer this up to 130km/h on the motorway. They don't offer it yet,

well, another example that pythons dependency management is seriously broken. Why does the lock file not contain information about whether it was wheel or not?

For a developer doing software builds frequently, the amount of available memory for caching disk access (buffer) can very much make a difference. The more the better.
