I'm waiting for the first hosting company to offer a drop-in replacement for AppEngine. It should be easy to compete on support with Google, and there are tons of AppEngine applications out there that can turn into big successes.

As a two time ADA winner, and having a new app almost ready for this years wwdc we're pretty bummed out about this. As one developer put it, it feels like the end of an era. We love the Mac desktop, but Apples current attitude towards it is

We leverage Cappuccino to get a near-desktop experience for http://www.enstore.com . You can create an account to play around yourself or watch a video here: http://cappuccino.org/discuss/2009/10/06/cappuccino-in-check...

It's a hip thing to work on, an interesting problem to solve, has some nice ideas around it, has great potential to get lots of users and there are no widely accepted solutions yet.
