Why are you saying rust needs to be flooded with issues? Rust isn't conflating transport layers and protocols. OP is. UdpSocket is just able to take ANY file descriptor and try to use it as if it's a UDP socket. E.g. this compiles

Ironically, if you change so that your software is so longer free software, but "source available", then you become one of the bad guys. At least that's how the community generally reacts.

No, this is nonsense and look like university student naivety. What caused it was rolling out a change and moving on to the next recipient without checking if the previous task instantly died. You can't prevent all crash bugs, but you

Why is the font size on this page ENORMOUS and blocking the ability to make it reasonable? Seems more than a bit user hostile. I guess I could try finding some reader mode extension, but the effort/reward promise is not high enough to

Glad to hear about 128bit. I still stand by that one should not migrate to vanilla `age` until the public key part is PQ, or one will need to do two migrations. The incremental improvement from going GPG to age seems pointless given the tim

Well, I'd say you left out all the important bits, to the point where your comment could easily be read as "it's the symmetric key that matters, even with public key". But whatever. Now I know. Both the choice of symmetr

Your data fits in RAM. If this is a test of how well the process would work for big data sets, then I'm not sure it's even big enough to be able to extrapolate from.

Oh, that's a shame. I'd like to use something stable and supported for long term backups, so size doesn't matter. Pre-quantum is not something worth migrating to.

The File Key is symmetric, but the header having recipient implies this is public key crypto. So break the public key crypto (e.g. X25519), and you don't need to crack the symmetric key. Also 128 bit? That's not quantum safe eithe

Yeah 128bit for symmetric is not enough, but it uses public key cryptography, right? "RECIPIENT can be an age public key generated by age-keygen ("age1...") or an SSH public key ("ssh-ed25519 AAAA...", "ssh-rsa

I don't get the downvotes. I'm not saying "stink as in I don't like it". US notes literally smell, and I've not gotten that from other currency. It's not even controversial. If you Google it you'll fi

It seems like a roundabout way to reduce the impact of a symptom of a self inflicted problem. It's clearly not a solution, and it seems like it's a suggestion that can only come from a place of "but we've always done it
