Thanks! Even as someone from team hipmunk, I must confess that I gave my upvote to Groupon :) But 2011 is going to be a big year for us. Don't ever hesitate to drop us a note (contact@hipmunk.com) with any & all feedback. And if any of

Thanks for mentioning this - I'm talking Steve/Chris into doing a tornado talk at pycon right this moment. This is great ammo.

When PG offered us a chance to be in YC, we agreed to hop off the train in CT and grab the next one back to Boston to brainstorm with him about a new idea. From that ~1hr conversation came the idea for reddit. PG summed it up well: we were

I was telling team YC during interview week that I miss the "animal" question, partially because I really love our answer (the "we're a freaking zoo" line is pure Huffman).

Thanks for the shoutout! Yes, the web app was definitely first priority. But apparently mobile is a huge recent growth area for travel search sites. Folks evidently want to search & book from their smartphones -- but it's still not as b

Thank you very much, SageRaven! We really count on folks like you to spread the word about hipmunk.com (we're sans PR firm) and really do believe that a great product will sell itself. Or more to the point, that users will sell it for us. I

All part of our plan! Hehe. Well, hipmunk was chosen for slightly different reasons (but boy is it non-flight specific and mascot-able) http://money.cnn.com/2010/08/19/technology/hipmunk/

Thanks! We've got plenty more planned for hipmunk - as many in this thread point out, there's a lot more than flight search that needs agony removed.

Glad you liked the interview. Thanks for submitting it to HN (though a bit late for it to get traction, I suspect). Plenty more insights to come on blog.hipmunk.com if you're interested!

Since a few days before launch, I've been the brand & community department, so to speak. I'm part-time, about 25hrs a week. But every day (7 days a week ftw!) is a hipmunk day, that's for sure. I'm an acting YC ambassador one day a week

Based on the recent Khan Academy lovefest, I'm finally doing what I've only talked about for a while -- actively campaigning for Salman Khan to speak at TED. The online form only took me a few minutes to fill out.
