Thanks for the recap and all the comments below; I'm doing a heavy post-mortem on this. I really didn't expect him to so adamantly lie like that. And then to first be called out by Chris about it and boldly say "Chris, seriously, that is w

Awesomesauce. Thanks. Good points here that echoed stuff I've already got in this testimony but with punch.

I tried this with a Google doc on /r/technology before my last trip to DC and it failed miserably, but I'd love to try again. http://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/meg8w/im_hoping_...

Ignore the downvotes :) thanks! I hope this is part of the reason why they've invited me back to DC.

I've been pleased with the folks at engineadvocacy.org and I'm hoping this can be a long-term solution. They're non-partisan and solely focused on lobbying on behalf of the tech entrepreneur, plain and simple.

There's a lot of truth to this. I'm doing everything I can to use my influence on the board of reddit, inc. to help, but the team we've got in place now has been carrying the torch brilliantly since we left.

I don't want karma, I want useful criticism. We need to win public support. Granted, BloombergTV is far from mainstream, but we're taking babysteps. We aren't for piracy, we're just aware of how futile trying to legislate against it is. I t

Yes, I think we're cooking up the perfect analogy in this thread. It needs to be as honest as it is relatable as it is succinct :)

I should have stressed #2 but deliberately left out #3 because my audience was Bloomberg. I'm really keen on finding a great, honest analogy that we can tie this all together with.

1) Gah, yes, I'm no politician, but there are better ways to pitch compromise. 2) I need to stress that this is well-intentioned legislation that is a problem I want to help solve, just not this way. 3) Sigh. Yeah. I didn't expect that ques

Thanks! I prefer the constructive stuff. 1) Yes, you're absolutely right - it matters and I've gotta break the habit. 2) I actually had a really productive set of meetings with a bunch of reps, sens, and their staffs back in Nov. One of who
