You seem to have lost perspective. Don't get caught in that. The easiest way to do that is to eliminate some of the stuff that is not really important. Such as being a top contributor to HN. You have infinite number of options and many o

How else are you going to report it publicly so that everyone can share their experience? Also, perhaps there's something to learn from the issue, in other words it's relevant (it's both hacker and news ) Otherwise, yes, I agree: this is

Exactly. It was not faster for me but slower. I didn't report it though, because my own connection was unstable at the time (I was playing with asterisk and my LAN).

Ask HN: Is HN slow for you lately? Or even not responding?

Right. You'd better fix "Upcoming Events near Washington, MD" before having those tropical drinks. It's Washington DC here and you don't want to underestimate this market.

Most? I tried non-Linux OSs to see what you're talking about. PuTTY on Windows works perfectly. Yes, Terminal on MacOS X doesn't support 256 colors, but iTerm does.

This is about xterm-256color. It's very much worth it, if you care about colors in your terminal. You will discover more and more subtle differences. Quite an upgrade if you use emacs -nw.

For those who use IB: How long have you been using them? Do you use their client or their API? Is it alright to use both, in parallel? People complain about their customer service; have you had any problems? Is it easy to transfer money

I chose the very basic I could find: a single speed Dahon Boardwalk. It has a steel frame so it's not that light, but I'm OK with the weight. The bike is simple so there's not much to break and for a year and a half of (ab)use it has been

Hm, Chrome doesn't seem to fill the _charset_ hidden input. Interesting, whether it's just that the feature is not yet implemented, or they don't consider it to be useful/good.
