They are islands though, even if large ones. I don't think there are any large connected landmass that has managed to successfully take a New Zealand/Taiwan. Also US has different states with different rules, but no ability to res

Vaccine supply is still increasing. I think by end of summer it will be fine, but hard to tell right now.

I’m not buying tickets yet, this is my belief and hope about what is going to happen. It’s great to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps it will be a bit later but I strongly believe this will be possible. Will only do it once sc

It is a bit different now because mRNA vaccines are much quicker to develop. It is somewhat realistic we can keep having up to date vaccines.

I think May 15 is a bit early, but if you say for example 4th of July I think you are correct. At least by that date everyone who wants a vaccine in the US should be able to get it. And they do work incredibly well, enough to lift all restr

Yeah, people are reading the effective number wrong. It is very close to 100% in protecting against hospitalization/death, which is what we really care about. If we could vaccinate 100% (perhaps at some time interval), this would be ov

This is like the ultimate example of this, coincidentally at the very beginning of the pandemic (before anyone could know how bad it would be) the previous administration proposed to cut SNAP, or what is commonly called food stamps by ~30%:

Yeah, if the dangerous scenario is what if ww3 happens, wipes out all human knowledge, civilization is rebuilt and accidentally digs a kilometer down and finds some nuclear waste then I mean the whole ww3 is probably a bigger deal. Also con

It’s also interesting in that is the opposite of the book “Guns, germs and steel” likes to tell. Apparently China is the place where the disease come from due to being more urbanized early with more interactions with domesticated animals. E

I saw a video that claimed it started with some British Chinese troops being moved through Canada like cattle in railway cars. There was already an outbreak in China the year before. From there it spread to all the army bases in the U.S. wh

I do think you can get the worst managers that way as well, and jobs at some points was one of the worst. You do need empathy and ways of handling underperformers that is not screaming at them hoping things will get better.

Thanks, I was mostly just wondering what the law is and what could have happened here. I don’t think police, or correctional officer, should ever shot at someone running away. Perhaps I’m naïve.

OK, It depends what you meant with suburban. If you mean the suburbs close to the big cities, sure they are part of the wealth generation. A large part of people living in those suburbs are using public transport to commute to work. The iss

I of course don't have all the facts of the case, but at first glance it seems unreasonable that a fleeing suspect (and in this case not a suspect at all) is actually shot multiple times. Is it OK to shoot fleeing suspects? It is of co

There was this bbc show were they host was trying to find the most humane method of capital punishment. He found a few that would be acceptable. He tried to introduce them in Texas, they were like the whole point is that they suffer. Edit:
