I don't see how a Copying GC can be faster than Mark and Sweep. Transferring a book may be easy, but copying an object can be quite costly. I can't imagine copying almost all objects everytime the GC runs.

Your old OpenGL books would have been worthless, as they can only have talked about the fixed pipeline which has been deprecated (thank god).

The fact that not everyone is using fish instead of the ridiculously inflexible, unintuitive and underpowered bash means that the shell mustn't matter that much. I'm just glad I found out about fish.

Such a long reply repeating the same thing is very obnoxious. Don't do it. If I could downvote you I would. Do you really know what you're talking about, huh? Your pigeon-hole example is pretty wrong because you can't use intuition (with co

It's clear some disturbances must be measurable because as I walk around the room, the magnetic field measured by my smartphone constantly changes and since the magnetic field of the Earth is practically uniform over small distances, this m

The have discovered a boson, but it's unknown what it is. There's just three things we know about the new particle. Its mass, its charge (0) and that it has integer spin (0 or 2).

As someone who has only had a cursory learning of JavaScript, I predicted correctly. The concept of overriding is known to me, although it's clearly in a slightly different context here and that 010 is 8 in octal I knew since I learned C. I

We chose our basis because it is convenient. It's called a Fock space[1]. You can choose any basis you want, the equations of motion derived from the Lagrangian will tell you how any wavefunction evolves, independently from your choice of b

Are you under the impression that all particles live in one All-Embracing Majesty? That is not true, although all particles of the same type are excitations of a single field, different types of particles have their own fields. For example,

If we find no Higgs boson right now, there's still other options: multiple Higgs bosons, composite Higgs bosons, etc. We're only looking for the most simple configuration right now. If does do not exists (and it will take many many years to

Don't worry, don't worry. This one of the most complicated theories in physics (apart from string theory) to grasp intuitively. I'm a physicist and I could try to help you. Think of an excitation of the field. One of the "axioms" of quantum

Using strncpy is not a remedy at all. The function was never designed for safe string copying, but for copying fixed-width inode names[1]. The fact that is protects against buffer overflows is pure coincidence. [1]: http://stackoverflow.

I'm not able to downvote so I didn't, but what if I'm not interested in a discussion about sexism in tech again . Most certainly not one that started of on the wrong foot, as the LSL games aren't sexist, at least not against women.
