Yikes. This is pretty inaccurate. Rails.app (now Tokaido) is on Github [1] and is coming along quite nicely. Our designer used a build of it to get one of our Rails apps up and running quite smoothly last week. It was super slick and as far

Bootstrap is LESS. There's a huge repo[1] for a SCSS version of Bootstrap: this repo seems to be trying to release it earlier than Thomas McDonald's version. That being said, there is a branch[2] on that repo that (at time of writ

I wouldn't encourage this, even for testing. Github isn't built to be a CDN -- it's not super performant. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5502540/should-github-be-...

Yep, Applescript. Quick Google search turns up this: http://smoove-operator.blogspot.com/2011/05/gtd-intake-autom... Worth mentioning that OmniFocus has a built-in tool for this (humorously called the "Clip-o-Tron 3000")

I'm curious what you'd prefer the author to refer to it as instead? Even the article name uses it as a proper noun; I'd understand if it was "mailbox" instead of "Mailbox", but it seems pretty clear to me. Mailbox.app?

It's a pretty good app, but I had the advantage of getting in within the first couple days. Admittedly, if I had to wait more than a week or two, I would've deleted it by now. It has some snazzy UI tricks and adds some smart task-based stuf

I imagine it couldn't be that hard to change the title from "r/startups" to "HN", but that's just me. Interesting project nonetheless.

I think the advantage of this project being open source becomes really clear in situations like this: I'd imagine js2coffee[1] will cover most of their bases, but in the situation that it doesn't , they have a (pretty active) Github commun

Seems like a souped-up alternative to what I've been using for the last six months: https://put.io/ Part of what I love about Plex (which has worked great at home; not so much remotely) is that it aggregates a lot of online video sources

My guess is that if there's a battle of wills that's going to occur, the game will win. It's easier to change a name on a web project than an iOS game. There's months of advertisement that've gone in to Loren's Letterpress at this point.

Personal preference here, but 5 (!) links to the sign-up page seems a bit much. You could safely drop the bottom three and keep the navigation choice and the hero button - it's pretty clear how to register already.

This is awesome. Projects like this make me appreciate the fortitude of Markdown. John has made a project that essentially got it right on the first try[1], with very few patches or additions. In a world of software development where I'm ru

There's a lot of documentation on the web for Git, but the Git/Github integration can get a little hairy if you get out of sync. The pull request workflow depends on what you're working on (Personal project? Company project? Massive open so

Awesome! I've seen a lot of little coverage on some of these topics but this is about as comprehensive as I think we'll find without any sort of release notes.

Ruby Newbie here. Is this pretty common in programming languages? It seems like there's been a lot of Ruby-specific drama in the last couple months (refinements come to mind) - does this happen in Python, JS, etc. as well? It seems like mos

Oh boy. I forgot decentralized would have some API connotations — my thinking was more along the lines of crowd-funded , "power to the people" kind of thing. If we're paying for it, we dictate how it works. Sorry about that.

Looks like two tests (test_where_error_with_hash and test_where_with_table_name). You can see those tests here: http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2012/q2/att-504/3-2-sql-injectio... (this is for 3.2, you can change the patch name for 3.1, etc.)
