Check out channels dvr (getchannels.com/dvr) as a modern, actively developed DVR. I love it. I'm running Channels on an ESXi host and just use the AppleTV app as the interface.

I don't, but it's essentially an Adafruit LED matrix + Pi + Adafruit PiHat. I modified the adafruit python library to read lines from Redis then I have another script that makes the API calls, has a REST server, etc and publishes

Just running VMWare Fusion Pro on my M1 MBP. Choose connect to server -> enter IP address /login/password for your ESXi host. Launch virtual machine. Then you can simply tell Fusion to connect any USB devices to the remot

Perhaps only barely fitting the definition, my most used application is ESXi on a intel Mac Mini which runs VMs for Ubuntu & Windows. I lost the ability to use Windows software that interfaced with devices over USB when I got my M1 MBP

Agree on Hubitat. Decided to ditch SmartThings. Went all-in on HA for a month. Went to Hubitat and am much happier.

It seems privacy started issuing these "better" cards... a year ago? Maybe slightly less? I had a bunch of privacy.com cards expire (original customer here) and had to re-generate them. Those cards that I re-generated didn't

I have a bash script that runs as a cron to get my current external IP address every ~5 minutes. If it has changed, it updates AWS Route53 with the new IP. Route53 costs $1/mo (for a zone = domain) and DNS lookups are basically free.

FlightRadar24.com is a much better interface and shows all the planes... in the world. I have an ADS-B receiver and I transmit my data to both FR24 and FlightAware.
