Ok, but I see the adjective applied to the argument, not to the person who wrote it. If he said "You are lying" it still wouldn't be an ad-hominem in my book. From wikipedia[0]: > An ad hominem [...], means responding to a

The Learning Area is still a work in progress, and contributions are more than welcome! We're having a weekly IRC meeting on mondays at 19.00 CET, on irc.mozilla.org, #mdn channel.

I used to develop OBD diagnostic software[0], the ones used by mechanics. For the cars I developed for, usually actuators had some preconditions that had to be met before they could go off. For example you shouldn't be able to tell the

May I suggest that you're starting from the premise that your kid is willing/able to learn programming and that programming is for everyone? As your parent suggested, not everyone who had computers back than had or felt the need t

I think the main problem this article highlights is the lack of control users have of their wearables. We are able to run our desktops, laptops and servers (and some mobile devices) almost only on free software. Why shouldn't we demand

I remember, back in 2008, I directly asked him if I could make something like his page and showed him a screenshot of my version. Mine had a keyboard and a pencil instead of my face. He said to go ahead. At the end I didn't, but that&#

Cruise control works this way: - There's a minimum speed you have to go for it to function (in this case, 30kph). If you are /below/ that speed, it doesn't turn on. - Once it is enabled, you can use a switch to change yo

I suppose that, since the cartridge was developed by Nintendo, maybe they knew there weren't going to be such hardware upgrades. Or they were just shortsighted.

I like Thad Starner's other designs[0] a lot more than Google Glass. Granted, they are bulky and dorky, but at least they had a keyboard and a hackable operating system (linux with an emacs-based ui if I remember well). I wouldn't

Is the point of this saying that J2EE is bloated and that simple operations are made seemingly impossible? Of course you wouldn't write an "hello world" in j2ee, what would be the point? All that stuff makes it easier later t

No, my point wasn't strictly about scrolling. My line of reasoning is: 1 tmux is needed to handle multiplexing 2 tmux also handles scrolling 3 if you need tmux for other things already, you don't need scrolling in the terminal emu

Fair enough, in a way, but I'd say you can't launch it stand-alone inside an X session without using another terminal emulator (st, xtrem, whatever).

I think the point is: do one thing and do it well. In this view, I guess it's not the terminal's duty to do multiplexing, scrolling etc. Tmux is meant to do the job, so its codebase size should not be added together with st's
