Wait, what? How would adding an indication that the article is paywalled inhibit/hamper support for high quality content? If an article is paywalled and I don't have any indication about this, I would open the link, notice it'

I do scrape. We are making a sort of meta-search engine for long term car rental, so to bootstrap it we are scraping offer from various sites and directing users to the original websites to actually go through with the offer. If anyone is i

In my opinion yes. It will probably just save me a couple of clicks, but it's irritating, especially on mobile.

Uh? In this case I'd say it's published in the correct place. The guy works for O'Reilly, the post is about his work, it's published on O'Reilly's website. I would have agreed with you if it was published on Me

Take the HN frontpage as it is right now. I bet you can read a good 80% of the links with lynx and company right now (except, ironically, for the comment on HN itself because they are not correctly indented). The actual problematic part of

I suggest you should chill a bit. I didn't see your previous post, but I guess this one has been downvoted because it's not saying anything of consequence regarding the OP and it's not adding anything to the conversation.

It's interesting that a post asking a very hacking-like question is being downvoted on hacker news. I mean, this is the kind of stuff you would have found on phrak, 2600 and the likes back in the day. (no snark, just an observation)

If I could highlight a passage from this article, it would be this one > Plus, it is imperative to increase data literacy, raise awareness of how transparent a company’s data policy is, and improve consumer education in the digital age.

Honestly curious: why Rust specifically and not any other "secure" systems language?

Why not use different selectors? I mean the first byte of every line in a menu, can't remember if the name is correct, right now.

Be the change you want to see :) For my part, I'm developing a gopher server + (minimal) app framework and plan to use it to publish a gopher version of my blog.

Doesn't this provision basically contrast with copyright itself? Doesn't this erase the rights an author has on its work, including giving it away for free?

Using == and := would guarantee you never accidentally use = by itself (out of habit from other languages) because that's not a valid operator.

I'm not sure I understand. Are these sites paying with cryptocurrencies or is the content delivery based on blockchains? The article is a bit vague about this.

I would suggest you expand a bit on what kind of things you're looking for, or at least give a reason for this kind of question, so as to limit the topic. Because as it stands, this question risk becoming flamebait in no time.

Just a heads-up, this is from 2012. I'm baffled at the amount of stuff we put in a webpage nowadays. A simple page I developed the backend for, that shows a filter on the left and results on the right came to weight around 2.87 MB. 2.2
