There's also a higher-pin variant of the chonky boi on the very right, that plugs into the headset for debugging purposes: https://9to5mac.com/2024/02/02/apple-selling-300-developer-s...

That's not what Center Stage is. Center Stage is a feature where a device uses an ultra-wide camera, and then is supposed to track your _face_ as you move and shift around it it's field of view. I find it most useful for FaceTime

It'd break if you wanted to do the dumbest thing and just not stream the windows users aren't looking at; but lowering the stream resolution on the fly could work but now involves more complexity (on both sides to communicate when

Not really? Do the math of how much bandwidth like three windows/screens (because with this model each window is basically its own screen) at 4K/100hz/10bit color each would take. You're at limits of TB4 _very quickly_.

I imagine it's mostly a CPU/battery/bandwidth concern at this point — having one wireless 4.5k/60 (or is it 90?) stream from your Mac is difficult enough; having a potentially unbound number of them (for arbitrary number

I think a missing context here is that this is aimed at people who work with VFX and other forms of computer-made images; and even more in context of "what should your authoritative master format for archival purposes be". Which a

If you wanna play semantics, and argue that the demonstration requires a M-Something chip, then they have in a $599 iPad Air with M1. Or I guess a Mac Mini with M2 for the same price. If you want to be more lenient, the $129 Apple TV has A1

These are not in any way competitors to A320 and B737. They are much smaller, with 2-2 seating, compared to 3-3 in the bigger jets. There are some routes and airlines where these are competitive; but they are not similar planes.

But that’s my point! The way you talk or think about it is absolutely influenced by what you’re used to, and what you’ve grown up with. To you, it’s obvious and natural that „half” is 1/2. To me, it looks off and I have to „convert” it

I think this is also a case of just being more familiar with something, I find "1/2" or "3/8" much harder to parse than "0.5" or "0.375" (having grown up in the EU).

Many of those are dependent also on trim level, not just make and model; which makes the original point moot, no? But maybe I've also been spoiled by German car rental places — literally every single car I got here in the past ~5 years

Oh absolutely! But that's true of ~anyone making chips; my point was that Apple isn't any worse in that regard due to their "secrecy".

>A refrigerator that can’t last 20 years is terrible for the environment to throw away when it lasts 3-6 like many Samsung and LG fridges do… Modern fridges are much more energy efficient, which makes this calculus somewhat complicated.

You don't need to change regions anymore. And I think recently when you look up directions in Apple Maps, it even suggests adding a transit card if you don't have one! Here, under Transit Cards in Maps. https://www.macr

Yes, the famously compartmentalized Apple, whose roadmap regularly leaks out to the press years (cars, AirTags, Vision Pro) and months in advance (leaks about every iPhone), absolutely a great target for subterfuge.

Because that's not how videogames in 2023 (or the past ~decade plus) have worked. You need, at a very minimum: — login system that also works with consoles — persistence for users stats (maybe not for some kinds of games) — matchmaking
