Hmm.. this actually looks like developer is going to start making less money the moment they release the first feature pack. To make things fair to users [1] you have to start selling base version for less money at some point to ensure that

Well, I'm pretty sure all the money of those companies would not be enough to get LibreOffice to become 100% compliant with MS Office formats in a timely manner. Those formats represent decades of features, bugs, fixes and quirks that would

Yes, API is not the same (although very similar) so all applications have to be ported. Some of this can be automated (using scripts like http://git.gnome.org/browse/pygobject/tree/pygi-convert.sh ) but it has to be done.

It's a good question, during the previous font testing Canonical has given us access to the "font bug tracker" but the link ( http://fonttest.design.canonical.com ) seems to be dead at the moment. Probably oversight on their part?

Ok, just to be sure I understand that correctly - Microsoft has invested quite a lot of money into developing Silverlight and WPF and then promoting those technologies among developers as the best thing since sliced bread (not to mention th

AFAIK at least Gtk+ and WM theme switching has not been added to gnome-control-center on purpose, it has been moved to gnome-tweak-tool (which is probably not going to be installed by default).

I don't think the lend feature is going to work "offline", i.e. without participation of Amazon. So Amazon would have a full control over who has lend, what books and to which people. So they can easily deauthorize them. But that wouldn't w
