Well, I guess if you make no effort to understand other peoples use case, you can make sweeping generalizations like that. If you need particular features, power consumption, or other factors, a 2-4 gen old used mini might not be the right

I don't mix stacks that way because I tend to use OpenBSD for firewalls and I think it's a really bad idea to run my FW on the same physical box as my VM infrastructure, but I'm an old skool infosec wonk and we have ideas k

This is wrong and networking people care very much. (Wildly oversimplifying here, there are always exception, YMMV, no warranty expressed or implied, may cause blurred vision or a rash) A switch is a device that handles things like "

I have a Protecli 4-port firewall. It's the second one I've bought for this. It's really been excellent from a cost/performance standpoint.

The N100s are everywhere, but I think the N305 with 8 E-cores is the bomb for a home server at slightly more power consumption.

There are parts of France that are simply off limits because the volume of UXO left over from WWI was deemed too much to even try to clean up: https://www.warhistoryonline.com/world-war-i/zone-rouge.html

That's batshit crazy, but it could be worse[1]. At least the Nazis could say "well, you got a chance you'll live". [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokosuka_MXY-7_Ohka

UART refers to the chip that implements the framing. There are many different framings that can be implemented by a UART. Many of them have names.

Well, sure...if we're going with "things that have Forth someplace under the hood on which only a tiny fraction of a percent of the users ever wrote a single Forth program", there's more escapees than that. Lot of work

No. Xenix through at least version 2.1 ran on the original IBM PC (and early Xenix was ported to the 68000 (e.g. Tandy model 16), which also lacked hardware VM support).[1] You could also run IBM PC Unix in the form of Venix from Venturec

Still, that's insane, the country had less than 100Mbps. It's not 'insane'. Bandwidth goes a long way when you aren't downloading 100Mb JS frameworks and watching cat videos all day.
