I buy all the Unicornfree ideology here. But I can't help but begin to think that I reject shit sandwiches simply because the shit sandwich makers reject me. By the way, I also eat up all the preaching that comes out of 37Signals. I love th

I have truly enjoyed watching Facebook and Zuck get called out by mainstream media and members of congress. It's not just the geeks who care anymore. T -5 days until my account is deleted. http://www.google.com/trends?q=delete+facebook+acc

This is one reason why developing for the browser is awesome. Even in the case of a browser extension, you can roll out changes so fast.

This is really cool. However, in the future, I think a better alternative will be running native code from the browser like Google NativeClient or CLI in the browser. Users are always in the browser and really don't like opening other appli

OK, at the risk of getting called out for spamming I can't help but interject here. I am the founder of a company who's goal is to create an environment where remote contributors are the company. I have one other co-founder and a few more

OK, so how about some ideas for a bootstrapped company that is no where close to making $40k a month (yet)? In fact, we work remotely for the freedom it offers, but also because we can't afford a space.

"It’s not about HTML 5 vs Flash. They’re mutually beneficial." Of course they have to say that. Just hoping they stop living in the past sooner rather than later.

To me this is not about Google's pledge to do no evil, but more like a call to action against Facebook, Microsoft, and yes, even Apple. Unfortunately in the tech industry shareholders love to see large market share followed by strong lock i

Sony could have done better to collaborate with the military and other researchers to leverage the PS3 super computer status into the PS3 brand itself.

People who call JavaScript a toy don't know how to use it. And there are a LOT of them. What JS + CSS + HTML5 are missing is the tools and frameworks that make Flex such a great development platform. The tools will come, and it will not tak

Browsers are going to be getting closer and closer to the metal all the time. That's what this is telling us. It's like 1991 all over again.

Hmmm, yeah. I guess I agree that the dictator approach does in fact land more successful products. But, like Calcanus has recently spouted off "Facebook has overplayed their hand", and I think the same goes for Apple. It is true that I do n

Calcanis is the ringleader in a racket. He talks more than he actually does anything. He writes posts like this to get traffic. He's like the Sarah Palin of the valley. Amusing to watch, but otherwise worthless.
