ELI5: How do they keep the booster stationary? Its thrust is powerful enough to lift a ship into the sky and more, so how do they keep it safely pinned to the ground without destroying itself?

I honestly don't know how to feel about this. I'm really happy for Ahmed for getting the justice and recognition he deserves, and for sure, suing for $15-mil would be hard lesson for the police and the school. But suing for that b

Wish we had this when I was taking Discrete Math and Numerical Methods back in college. Really neat visualization!

Most dev shops nowadays use Vagrant to manage and provision their dev environments, making sure that all developers are on the exact same setup.

This is one of my favorite ongoing stories in HN. It's like a peek into a team building a time machine, and for all intents and purposes, this IS a time machine -- one that opens a window to the past.

This is depressing. As an avid user of MomentJS for the past few years, my thanks and best wishes go out to Tim for starting such an awesome project. Let this be a wake up call for the open source community to realize just how undervalued o

Okay, but I need to ask the important question here: when is this coming out on Euro Truck Simulator?

This is actually really neat! Would love to play with this some time. My only gripe is that I don't like Ruby. Would you consider adding support for other languages in the Dangerfile in the future?

Imagine if we used this today and we must input zenzizenzizenzizenzizenzizenic(x) to the terminal to get a desired power of a number.

A novel, and somewhat entertaining experiment. Though probably no practical use. It explains this: [ok hand][fries][burger][silverware] As: "The OK gesture shares fries with the silver cheeseburger." Made my day though.

This is really fascinating. Reminds me of cell towers disguised as trees in uptown NY. Would definitely love to see more of modern infrastructure blending in their environment!

Interesting read, but somewhat disappointing. I expected something like a demonstration of a card reader dumping the contents of the card, and an Arduino-controlled magstripe spoofing it. Excellent writeup nonetheless!

I put a client's site in a git repo once, but I never figured out how to safely and effectively git the database too. Kudos to VersionPress! I've only learned about them today but they seem to be doing a really solid job.
