Wise cards are still issued in your home country however. My NZ-issued Wise card still triggers the DCC prompt so it's more or less the same as a NZ-issued card from any other provider. A common misconception but understandable given h

Genuine questions: Do you ever apply kernel patches? I also run FreeBSD and reboot for any kernel patches and never can get my uptimes to 1,000 days before that. Do you just run versions that don't get security patches? Security suppor

They limit the buffer to around 30secs or so like all other streaming services but otherwise 95%+ of the time it just plays smoothing with no buffering at all from start to end. YouTube is generally in the top 3 of the video streaming servi

Interesting, here in New Zealand every supermarket has at least one brand of powder. Normally Finish is one and competing brands includes locally made and/or eco-friendly ones. Hopefully that practice doesn't reach here!

The video explains that dishwashers sold in 110V countries often has a hot water connection as it's too slow heating water off a 110V/10A circuit so it is more efficent to utilise the hot water pipes. However we live in NZ, a 230V

It depends on the cycle for some. Mine one doesn't do a prewash for the 45mins QUICK cycle. But the ECO cycle does follow the normal prewash-then-wash process as described in the video. Hence I normally use the ECO cycle and put the co

That has not been my experience with pods. When we switched back to powder the difference was night and day. Even my husband who used to swear by pods eventually gave in and agreed powder is much better. It is a bit fiddly yes but powder ge

Maybe it hasn't been rolled out to me yet. Or it might be because I'm not logged into a Firefox profile? It is only availiable to those logged in?

I switched to Android in 2021 after almost a decade using iPhone and I was surprised to find modern Android is actually very good. I remember the early days of Android being a trash fire but since around ~2020 it seems to have gotten a lot

Taking photos and videos does kill the battery quite quickly if you take a lot through. So does depend on what you use your phone for during your trip.

Strange I have a S21 and I can't tell the diff between photos taken with the S21 and those shared to me from owners of other phones. I find generally modern high end phones all take good photos. YMMV of course.

I guess this is very geographic dependent. I live in a country where only maybe 80% of merchants accept Visa/Mastercard (and thus only those can accept Google/Apple Pay) so I need to either carry a card for our domestic payment ca

It's tricky tho cos Emirates B777 in Economy is not great so does depend on whether the route you're flying is guaranteed to have a A380. Flew them recently where one leg was A380 and the other B777, and could not be A380 for both

I assume there's a reason Intel didn't make that particular setting the default in their x11 drivers. While it certainly fixed the screen tearing issue, I presume there was some tradeoff which made some other feature worse off. Wa
