I would go so far as to say the rise of Rails and the downfall of J2EE being concurrent was not entirely accidental. I have/had no particular affiliation for Rails, but it demonstrated how to write simple, opinionated backend code, and

That's the first time I've heard the C syntax being called "too rich". It's the epitome of succinctness IMHO (too a fault, even, or maybe I'm just old). Are you confusing it with C++? If so, you have a point.

My wife and I were visiting County Kerry in SW Ireland last summer. We were on Valentia Island and quite by chance walked past the telegraph building where the first transatlantic cable came ashore. Only marked by a (very interesting) plaqu

Yes, the Uk (southern England in particular) is dotted with "Semaphore Hill"s or "Telegraph Hills"s. There's one very close to where I'm sitting now, a few miles NE of Portsmouth.

This results in them moving up a layer, in this case creating a network of inter-dependent containers that you now have to put together for the whole thing to start... and we're back to square one, with way more bloat in between. I t

Indeed the "Learn X" books may even have a vested interest in not revealing rarely used features, so that you learn to reimplement them in X.

Love the way this is done. It's a shame commercial vendors don't do this sort of thing for their product docs more regularly.

This is the thing. Htmx is great if you only consider the frontend. But it does require fixing up the backed to match. A framework like that needs to integrate the front & back ends fairly tightly to have good UX. You may be interested

It's simpler than that. OSS strong encryption tools are available than anyone can run on the command line to encrypt their messages, which can then just go as attachments via email, whatsapp, etc. No new developers required. And as you
