Maybe it's my anthropocentric brain, but the animals move realistically while the people still look quite off. It's still an unbelievable achievement though. I love the paper seahorse whose tail is made (realistically) using the p

This looks like it could be modelled by a petri net. Your states are typed tokens, and tasks (ie transitions) are triggered by the presence of tokens and produce tokens as output. IMHO petri nets are the most widely applicable method for mo

I worked at an oil major which was fairly well organized, but I think much of that was down to the nature of the business which is both highly integrated and highly regulated.

Wow, the name Watcom takes me back 30+ years. My first job was porting actuarial valuation software in FORTRAN from System370 to PCs. We used Watcom for the FORTRAN and the C orchestration part, hosted on OS/2. Probably the top C compi

One of the good things about it is that using asynchrony is optional. If you don't have to call out anywhere to build the response, processing can all stay in the handler's calling thread. If you do, you can return a future and ha

Tools like lockbox are not necessary, nginx, caddy, etc or heck even a normal 70 line python3 fastapi based script works just fine and should be more extendable than lockbox. Well in that case you could make that argument about any piece
