“When Genius Failed” is really good. Lot of parallels to tech where folks are visionaries right up until the day that they’re not and how things that we don’t truly understand can go haywire

Seems like a smart decision by those businesses to team up (collude?) here both for business and public health reasons. If they all agree to wait post election there will be a higher rate of vaccinations which will benefit everyone (sales a

Maybe an alternative model would be too charge the drivers a subscription fee. Could be a typical SAAS model where first 10 rides/month are free and the ability to work unlimited hours costs ~$1k. I don't think you could do this

Not true if there’s enough competition that you need more resources for a bigger model in 2-3 years. Anecdotally, it seems like SOTA model training costs are rising much faster than computer cost is falling.

I’m pretty bullish on this concept finding market fit, probably less confident about the business model being great. The super interesting feature IMO is how much this lowers the cost to enter the market. I imagine this are super short term

Isn’t “percentage of occupied beds w/ covid” a terrible metric? As states open up and elective surgeries, car accidents etc increase the denominator will inevitably increase and this will appear to go down regardless of any positive ch

Is that $4 billion in bookings or only their take? If it's the latter, then their "real" revenue per employee is much lower. For marketplaces it seems disingenuous when they use the top-line number for revenue given that they

DM me if interested - we are doubling our engineering intern class this summer, I believe 50-75 more seats, to try and help out folks who've had their summer plans canceled. This would be at least partially remote, but we are consideri

Not to support a dataless claim...but...isn't the fact that ~90% of tests come back negative (and tests are hard to get) indicative of their point that the vast majority of people who think they have the disease, do not? AFAIK the test

Ha - the anniversary must be why this was available on my flight the other day. While rewatching for the first time in a decade I found the “human battery” idea pretty silly/lazy and thought that through the modern lens there would be

It doesn’t seem fair to assume the international ARPU is maxed out just because the US ARPU is. I imagine the lose markets are just less mature and are more focused on growth at this point than monetization (as they should be!). What’s the

I appreciate that this route can help counteract the self-selection bias for narcissists in higher level roles. Most managers/directors/VPs/CEOs etc only become such because they think they belong there. We probably want more
