I cannot comment for the other places but Dublin and Milpitas are a case of "Everywhere else is stupidly unaffordable." Dublin is a nice place, but the commute is a nightmare. Milpitas on the other hand is both nice and reasonably

Why not an all inclusive hotel/resort? Same benefits + reasonable Internet.

Maybe it is not there yet, but given the momemtum it has, my gut feeling is that it will catch up eventually and be our default fs one day.

Thinking about it, lead me to a question: "Why? Why is there a big chunk of the population that gets their news from Facebook?" We are talking about the internet here, where anybody can put up a server and publish anything they wa

Good. Facebook is doing her a favor. Why not self-ban herself from Facebook for life? Or to put it in a nicer way, ban Facebook from her life for ever. I am not a lawyer, but I don't think it is illegal for Facebook to censor and deny

Do you mean that this is a classic case of supply and demand? I don't see a problem with this. But I don't think this is what was mentioned in the article.

There is Lyft and there are normal taxi services too. I don't see Uber having a ( unfair ) leverage over the user.

Just to clarify that I didn't imply that being good at your job and having a life are mutually exclusive. What I meant is that if you want to be the best in your field or you want your startup to succeed, then you do have to sacrifice

I disagree. If you want to be the best and be highly successful, then you have to work hard. If you don't, someone else will. There are plenty of companies and positions where you can have a great work/life balance, but if you wan

And this exactly is the beauty of free software. The core team is free to drop support or do whatever they want. One thing they cannot force people to upgrade. They will upgrade when they want to upgrade. Personally I tried upgrading a coup

I didn't say it is not supporting them. I said that is a bit cumbersome to have to write the shims for them. I wasn't aware of the tools that do this automatically. Just found one and it looks promising.

Why is it UB? Let's say head value is "10" and the memory at "10" is {..., next: "10"} After the first iteration we will have: Head: "10" Next: "10" Temp: "10" With "10&q

IMHO it is OK if you are only going to call a few simple one, but for calling a few hundred complex ones (callbacks with variable argument list, etc..), it becomes a bit cumbersome. BTW I am not implying that is Rust's fault, actually

You had my sympathy until I read the "error prone shitty language like C". Next time before getting pissed off about the response you get, think what could it be that you have said or done that may have triggered it.
