When a buddy and I used to go out to bars, he would dress and act Mexican too. I think he enjoyed the style but, on some level, also the attention when girls would mistake him for being Mexican rather than his Chinese heritage.

I like the personal touch your site provides with the producers' images. How did you source your data?

I stand corrected — Very unusual given how "similar" your accents are and your proximity to the states.

Cool name - I bet it sounds great with an American/Canadian accent. Using the UK/Australia/NZ accent, it's pronounced "zed-ell-aye", so I didn't grok it instantly like most of the audience here would.

I'm trying out vibe coding a bit on my olive oil index site — building a full website with 11ty, tailwind and LLMs. The LLMs also serve as a data pipeline to watch and update content as new information is published online: https:/

Does it work for local though? It's my understanding this is still missing.

I'm a DIYer (building my own router and application servers and other PCs), but one thing I never built myself was a NAS because Synology was so good. This news might see me building my own NAS in future. It's a slippery slope whe

Combining the various "tells" of an LLM (em dashes, delve, grammatical signs etc) with the context (Reddit comments vs professional setting), you could establish a rough probability it was AI generated. At this point, it's th

More sophisticated clients require we use dashes correctly. I first encountered it pre-pandemic, so in professional contexts it's not a sure-fire signal of LLM use — Should you see em dashes correctly used in the Hacker News comments o

I love the idea of having access to your own personal data in plain formats like this. Just like with plain text note taking, and being able to run local AI models against your personal notes, I imagine one day running local AI models over

I would assume Linux wouldn't implement this but has this been verified somewhere? It's my understanding this limits the quality of content streamers permit to run on Linux: https://linuxcommunity.io/t/drm-the

I speculate we'll just see classes of models developed. Ones with lots of knowledge (even domain specific) and models with reasoning capabilities.

It was posted below: https://github.com/OpenRA/ra2 It works, but it's not an official release yet. Fwiw I haven't played this myself.

Based on this open source project, modders have created an expanded universe encapsulating RA, RA2, Tiberian Sun, Tiberian Dawn and other lore into Combined Arms mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/command-conquer-combined-

There have been plans to bring RA2 to OpenRA for some time now. I second this. It'd be nice to also see support for Tiberian Sun and the C&C Remastered collection.

I love how faithful this is to the original games but at the same time they've modernised the gameplay so that it doesn't feel it's age. When you go back and play the originals (even Red Alert remastered) the modernised gamep

I've wanted to explore this so that I've got records of all my transactions which I can feed to generative AI when it eventually becomes capable enough. E.g. "Using my financial records, help me set a budget which allows me t

Even 10-15 years later, multiple CPUs and 128Mb RAM was quite uncommon. How much did this beast cost back in the 80s? Edit: Max configs were up to $250,000 ($663,937.02 today) back then according to this price list: http://www.bi

You can have images alongside text in VS Code extensions too. Yes there's still bloat but you may already have VS Code open.

I've been burned enough times buying Netgear devices that I'd need a lot of good reviews to switch away from my much simpler TP Link travel router. Plus, it seems a little pricey for the task. Why not just use a decent smartphone?

Brilliant idea. I hadn't thought of that, but it would save me some API quota and give me a little more control over the outcome. I might struggle matching colours to the music playing a little, but there are so many other factors that

I like the idea of storing the colours locally - better for privacy too! Definitely a novelty factor that AI is "designing" my apartment's colours. Here's a snapshot of how it works in my office - bedroom and living room
