Sadly almost no programs apply to me because I've never been convicted of a crime. Most programs are only available to felons. There are almost no support structures for those who have spent years locked up in pre-trial detention. I wa

As a current prisoner who is yet to be released, let me say thank you for everything you've done. I've spent the last 9 years around felons and it is sad as most of them never had a chance in life, being born either into an enviro

It's sad. It shouldn't have to be radical solutions like that. Poster above is very luck he had his record expunged (although it's possible his record lives on in Google). Most convicted persons are never able to clear their

Would it be from a different company outside the major players? I spent weeks trying to find anyone who could wire this building and gave up. I'm on 5G now which is actually 100X more useable than I expected.

I'm not sure if they are Comcast now. They seemed to be separate when I called them. They couldn't help me, though.

I'm not an attorney, but I've litigated almost a hundred cases without a lawyer. Question: sometimes I'll have attorneys approach me at court when I'm on a case that's an obvious winner (and has statutory legal fees

I'm in (roughly) downtown Chicago. My building had no wired Internet when I moved in here last year (!). I called Comcast and they wanted $71,000 to install, and $800/month minimum to wire me up, despite all my neighbors already u

AI image manipulation and creation is getting really wild. The last 12 months has seen a real explosion in published research. It feels like an exponential curve.

If you're an immigrant like me, then a lot of these services are not available to you in the USA. Or, if you do take advantage of any of them you are permanently excluded for applying for citizenship.

This is definitely hard to parse. Canada Water to Canary Wharf is 144 minute walk on that map LOL. It's a couple of minutes by Underground. It is about 2 miles walk, but it's definitely not 2 hours and 24 minutes!

All good points. Sadly, there is no perfect solution. Which ever way you draw the map you are making a compromise. The London map is by far the easiest I have ever encountered for figuring out how to get from station A to station B. On the

I had the same problem. Same type of 07 number as you - all consecutive. It was too much hassle. Also, with that number and my 07969696969 number that I thought was hilarious, I just had infinity prank calls all day, and worst of all, all

This article doesn't take into account any of the myriad advances in AI, which appears to be starting up an exponential curve of improvement. IMO, it is likely the Singularity will arrive before 2050 and make practically everything in

Many things on the Net have a 2000 character limit for URLs. Still, I bet some creative minds could do a lot in 2000 characters. We should start a demo scene.

The amusing thing is that most states in the USA actually incorporate all English law, usually prior to about 1600. So all those English statutes from say, 1100, like the Magna Carta, are still on the law books in the USA. Here is Illinois:
