In 2014 I worked for a food delivery startup as sysadmin (pizza.de, now sold at least twice). We used a bunch of shellscripts and m4 to manage a lot of linux servers and config-files in a similiar fashion to what ansible does (which was not

people scraping on their salary are hit very hard by fines defined by "Tagessätze". But once someone is "poor enough" to hit the limit or anyway living on welfare they are very ineffective.

I tried to google what price controls they mean. Could only find a price control program from 71 - 74. So that may just have delayed the inevitable for 3 years. https://www.nber.org/papers/w0279

Looks like it has more "self service" capabilities. But not sure. But i think most of the problems are better solved by running an IaC tool like terraform in CI with a pull-request workflow.

I disagree. Working in IT infrastructure / DevOps for years theres nothing worse than maintaining aging infrastructure that was too tighly coupled or "too unified". One job, one tool is still valid today.

Geany is my favourite editor for many years. Blazingly fast and resource friendly. Has most features I need but not bloated... Only thing I'm missing is support for some newer languages (hcl/terraform comes do mind).

If you test 1000 people with a test which has a 1% false positive rate (lets ignore false negatives), but only one person in the 1000 is really infected you get about 11 positive tests results of which 10 are wrong.
