My story is anecdotal but it's true. Who says you have to repay a loan on the standard terms? I also said mostly gone. If standard is 10 years than after 5 years half is gone. Pair that w/ an accelerated payoff and you're loo

Exactly. Besides, mostly paid off != paid off. I went to a UC so by the time you graduated loans were about $20k-$50k depending on how much you take out. Live at home, work hard, chip away at your loans, they'll be mostly gone after 5

Bootcamps certainly sell on the promise of an engineer salary. They preach it and let it get into your head. At the end of the day you have bootcamp grads feeling entitled to a six figure salary. Personally, I work with some great bootcamp

I'm not pro-student debt, but all of the stories in this article are super irresponsible to me. All of my friends and I graduated at the worst time possible, shortly after the 2008 crash. It was a terrible time to enter the job market

Yeah, Yelp is a whole other beast. I've also developed a quick filter for reading those. Plus, food reviews are a lot more subjective. Whereas with Amazon reviews, sometimes all you really want to know is whether or not a product works

Yeah after being tricked by a product or two I've now developed a keen eye for products with fake reviews. Funny story: a co-worker of mine fell for the fake-review trick and bought a product, talking about its rave reviews. I knew fro

Right? I feel like there's no way to get a good legitimate discussion on any article w/o a community like HN or reddit that cares about their arbitrary karma system.

Just had to chime in and say thank you for such an amazing two games. Loving Uncharted 4 so far. I know you worked on mostly NPC AI, but this is the most beautiful game I've played and my PS4 sounds like it's about to die.

Super bummed by this. The integrations were priceless. Taking recs on any alternative.

The anecdotal example of Brooklyn is a bad example IMO. Everyone knows how gentrified Brooklyn has become. As a result, real estate prices for those areas are going way up. For those in SF, the same is happening to Oakland. Also, having jus

Anyone watch Vinyl on HBO? I know it's Hollywood but I know Mick Jagger is basing a lot of it on his experiences. To be honest aside from the crime, it all seems totally believable.

There's a lot of cool bots I can come up with but I none that I think you'd be able to monetize. For example, if I'm in a group chatting away, it'd be cool to have a bot collect certain posts that I can reference later i

I also noticed while doing taxes that if I borrow money, I'm going to pay interest on that money I borrow. One of the incentives to this self investment is that I can deduct the interest that I pay. However, apparently, if your salary

What's considered bad uptime for a service like Github? Currently for the past month they're at 98.7137%. My systems engineers says anything below 99% is bad but just curious what you all think.

There was a Tumblr that had a list of things that are cheaper than Whatsapp's $16B acquisition. It's pretty insane how much bigger of an industry some things are over others.

I'm really tired of reading rants and opinions on Medium. In any case it sounds like if there's a huge drop-off of users Instagram can very easily address the issue by setting a sort by option in the settings.

I was really upset actually that Curry was playing so hard in the 4th quarter against Philly of all teams. He went for a steal w/ 2 minutes left up 18 points. I get it the mentality, but so close to the playoffs? Give your bench more p
